I truly hate my life. I get out of the nursing home, I get my wheelchair fixed, and now amet has moe use of it than me, because I've neem s.i.c.k.: Two kidney infections in six weeks' time, a hulluva case of cellulitis, my pulmonary hypertension (that's where the blood pressure going to my lungs is higher than anywhere else in my body) is worse than the last time it was checked, and between that and both the cellulitis & kidney infections, I started swelling from ankles to armpits, agining me at least 30 lbs of just water weight.
Oh, yeah, and don't forget the yeast infections from all the antibiotics too.
And so when I get out of the hospital, my toommate Sean starts telling me about SOPA and PIPA.. Ok.... Now, I'll admit I haven't gone and looked them up and read about them, but everything Sean's told me is making it sound like freedom of speech will go out the window if these two little bills become laws. Someone tell me: am I right? Or am I woofin' up the wrong oxygen-and-paper-maker? Even worse whgere these two are concerned: they sound as if they're basically the same thing, just restated on different sheaves of paper, and with a few different words and different authors. They both mean we're going to end up censored. Even Time Warner, Comcast, CBS (I believe), AOL, Google, Yahoo, and, I believe, all the major TV, Radio and internet providers are fighting these two bills at the moment.
The one we couldn't keep from passing was the NDAA/S.1867, which gives the US Military (and I think the cops, FBI, CIA, and whatever other Alphabet agencies that are out there) the right to detain and hold *indefinitely* anyone they deem to be a threat to the United States. From my understanding (again, I didn't go look it up) this means they don't have to show any proof that the detainee is a terrorist, felon, or has broken the law in any way: they just have to show up, arrest them, and keep them. ai feel sorry for those who re still at the Occupy Wall Street event. I have a feeling they will be the first to find themselves with three hots and a cot... and probably not the kind of food that they prefer. At least with as many people as will be arrested, they'll have to open a whole new ward for them, which means (I hope, anyway) that those new to jail won't get such a horrible crash course as if they were placed with the hardened criminals.
In any case, this is probably the last time you'll hear from me unless the SOPA and PIPA acts don't pass.... because of what I'm about to say: It is my opinion that we are falling into Nazi Germany. If we can be imprisoned indefinitely for no reason any greater than insubordination (which is a part of free speech), then we have no free speech whatsoever. If we cannot write something on the net and expect our friends and families to find it and read it without having to hack their way around all the "safeguards" the government is gonna put up, then we're being censored, and there's no reason for me, for one, to write.
So, until next time, if there is a next time,

Oh, I didn't tell you: My electric wheelchair had been FUBAR'd largely since Sept '10.... I mean, it worked off and on, but in April it totally putzed out We finally got it up and running again last Monday. Not a glitch since then. After we replaced every bloody thing on the blighting rolling beheamoth we afectionately call "Skirt Eater" (for its tendency to tear through long skirts if you don't watch them carefully as you're rolling along) except the chassis and the foot rest. I mean everything. The wheels, the batteries, tall the wiring, the computer, the engines, the seat, the arm rests, the controls, all the bearings, all the cushions, everything. Oh, well, I guess, the fiberglass body was also left alone, but that's just decoration. I'm not kidding, this thing .... I think it would have been cheaper to have bought me a new one, since some of these parts were replaced more than once due to the idiots making mistakes the first and second time through....
Well, to make what was supposed to be a short sroty long and end it gracelessly, it would have been cheaper to have replaved the whole chair, but the insurance compahy decided it was worth the risk of continuing to buy new parts for the old chair. Of course, you have Medicaid/Medicare rules, which state you can only get a new chair every 5 years.... it's only been 3 and..... well, almost 4 years now. No, it HAS been 5 years now. Wow. Next year I can get a new wheelchair!!! WOOT!!!! I can't wait!!!
What an addendum!

Yeah, that's right I was in a nursing home, yet again And now I am yet again home. Thank whatever higher beaing you choose to worship Or none, if you thgo that rougte. Either way, I'm happy and grateful. It's still an adjustment. For one, now I have to worry about the fact that we don't have adequate mone to get the proper nutrition to keep me as healthy as I'm supposed to be while I endeavour to lose weight This isn't good. Moslty what we can afford is carbohydrate filler, which is wehat cheap budget food is Ramen noodles, mac& cheese... Not such good things for someone who['s over 500lbs to eat.
Then we don't getg much in food stamps because they only allow so much for utilities, b and we're only paying a pproximately a quarter of our combined income on "rent".. well, we call it rent Janet's parents don't They call it "tax and insurance.." It's $300/mo, ewhich m is total bunk for it being JUST tax and insurance They're making SOME profit off that too. So then we have to ask the church for a food order every month as well, which lasts us about half the month, if we're lucky. Well, we'll get more this month since I'm home now, but that'll cover me being home now.
I know I'm kvetching an awful lot today, but I guess I'm just in a lot of pain (I slipped a disk earlier doing nothhing more than standing on the scale to get my weight) and I've been feeling kinda off because of it Thanks for reading if you did,.

So yeah, I got put into another nursing home in April after a kidney infection. At least this time we got a ramp put up at the house because of it. That's about the only goof thing I can say about my stay here. I've declined big time here. I can't get up off the floor by myself anymore, which means I now need a hoyer lift at home, in case I fall, which is NOT good. I am NOT happy. I found this out when I got out of bed to go to the bathroom and fell over immediately. I mean, WTF??? I sat there on the side of the bed the way I was supposed to, until I knew my blood pressure was equalized... about three minutes. I then stood up slowly.... and then blacked the bleep out! *shaked head* And then after I finished trying to get up on my own, I decided to turn over and sit on my butt since my knee (which I landed hard on -- and at more than 500lbs, that HURT) was killing me, and they decided I had fallen again, since I was rather... ungainly... while doing so. I guess I looked like a beached walrus flopping around. I didn't.... it was a controlled flop. *sigh*
But at least we have a ramp at the house and now I can look at going home much sooner. Thank God.

I hate being sick. I hate having fevers. I hate being stuck in bed. :P More to come later, when I can sit up without being dizzy.

Before streaming video, Netflix was a convenient way to rent videos. It was easy to get online and decide which DVDs you wanted to see and order them, but then you would have to wait a week or so for them to arrive, and when you watched them, pray you didn't lose the return envelopes and return them to get more. While it sounds like a utopian plan, there *are* some problems with it. For instance, what if you lose the envelope? What if you mess up the DVD? They don't come in hard cases like they do from Blockbuster or the place down the street (of course, THOSE come with late fees and all...).
Then I started seeing some interesting TV commercials starring "The Wrightnows".
I thought about it, and for a while, I thought that this was the hokeyest way for Netflix to advertise. Hokey it might be, but when I finally got a laptop with Windows 7 on it (and Windows Media Center -- Oh, so much better than Windows Media Player!!!) I decided to try their Netflix app and sign up for the free month trial.
We didn't check out any DVD's. I'd decided that was a bad idea to start with. Stick with streaming. There are thousands of movies available for streaming right now, and I got to watch a lot of them that I haven't seen. From The Missing (Starring Cate Blanchette and Tommy Lee Jones) to Surrogates (Bruce Willis) to Jackie Chan: Kung Fu Master (Who else? Jackie Chan) I watched several movies that I had been wanting to see for a while. I even watched Tank Girl, which looked interesting, but was rather... um... wierd. That's the nicest thing I can say about that one. ;)
In any case, today when I realized that we didn't have enough money to continue the subscription (which would be billed tomorrow) I went to the website to cancel. Unfortunately, they don't have a cancel link on the website. That and the long phone queue are the only complaints I have about them.
HOWEVER....
When I called them to cancel (expecting that they would be as much trouble as AOL) I was very, very pleasantly surprised.
1) When you sign in from the website and then go to "contact us" from there, you get a six digit code that gives the Customer Service Agent (or CSR) all your info so you don't have to say anything about your account over the phone.
2) Even though it's a long wait, the CSRs are extremely nice, professional, and courteous.
3) Canceling is as easy as saying, "I would like to cancel my account, please." and they do it with no questions asked, even on the day before your payment is due.
4) If you have *any* questions, they will answer them clearly and concisely.
All-in-all, I found my experience with Netflix to be extremely pleasant and totally wonderful. I *will* be going back to them on the 3rd of the month, when I get paid -- especially since they just changed their price plans to include a "streaming only" plan that's a dollar cheaper ($7.99/mo) than the plan I had originally chosen!
FIVE STARS!
TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!
USE THEM!

So our little baby has grown almost to twice her size since we brought her home. Such a fast growing kitty "But then that's how it goes with babies. Diamond is. still being a good mommy and nursing her whenever she wants, though that's less often now that she'S eating solid food too. The best (and grossest) thing Diamond does for her is to Clean her messes up, since she is having trouble understanding what the cat box is for. Oh well...[ add comment ] | permalink |

Two days ago we inherited a little princess. Her name is CleoCatra. Now all we need is Marc Catony. Or a mouse, says Janet(ShadowDark7), named Julius Cheezer. She is, if you hadn't already guessed, a kitten of the cutest degree. I'm guessing she's about four weeks of age. She hadn't started weaning yet, though she's now starting to eat small pieces of microwaved egg and little bits of softened kitten food, as well as Gerber chicken.
What's most amazing, though, is the fact that my service dog Diamond, who was apparently going through a false pregnancy, adopted her, "terminated" the "pregnancy", and has started producing milk to feed Cleo.
Yes, I'm serious. A 50lb lab/pit mix has adopted and is nursing a four week old kitten.
Now how's them apples?

Edited at 5:54 PM, same day: Got a couple pics for ya to look at:
Cleocatra sleeping on her pillow, where she sleeps if Diamond isn't around to nurse her or otherwise care for her.
and

You know what? All this talking about people behind their backs when you don't like them or their actions is getting on my nerves. I have on numerous occasions told people, if you have a problem with me, COME TO ME about it so I can change it.
Well, last night, when I was going to guest on SG10, I suddenly was told by Janet that Cyndi (aka FSF Mariko, who is not even a host of this sim) would block me if I showed up with my normal character. And then when I asked if I could show up as a different character, I was told, no, even my screen name would be blocked. The reason: Because I am apparently a prima donna who has to be the center of attention. And all of this is done behind my back after she claims to my face to be my sister and the closest of family.
Cyndi, I have news for you: This is not how family treats each other. And neither is using Janet as messenger, or the rope in the center of a game of tug-o-war. I'm not pulling. As for all of these sims that I have suddenly joined with Kiki, well, Janed begged me to join them, and WITH that character, so deal with it. And you can also deal with the fact that Janet does NOT have to have every one of her characters married to one of yours.
If you're trying to run her out of the world of simming and gaming by choosing her friends for her, you're doing a good job of it.

Well, not quite smoke... It's vapor! E-cigarettes, to be exact.
Ok, so I was dumb and started smoking again a few months back. It wasn't doing anything good at all for my health, as you can imagine. Well, about a month ago, I finally got the money to get something I've been wanting to get for a long while now: Electronic Cigarettes. I'd been looking through different sites and chose one to go with first: Greensmokes.
Let me tell you, those are nice. They look like real cigarettes, they taste like real cigarettes, (unless you get the different flavors) but they don't smell like real cigarettes. And they don't give you ash, tar, carbon monoxide or any of the other nastybads that real cigarettes do. Immediately I started breathing better, and boy, did I love these things! There's the battery (the part that looks like the long part of the cigarette) and the cartridges (which look like the filter) and that's all there is to it. You recharge the batteries as often as you need to, and though they don't exactly WANT you to, if you buy "e-juice" online you can refill the cartridges a few times before you have to throw them out.
(You can find these at GreenSmoke.)
But they're expensive, so I decided to try another brand as well, see how they work out.
Joye 510. They're small cylinders, but that's where their visual resemblance to cigarettes ends. They come in different colors. I chose purple. (Those who know me won't be surprised) There are three parts to them, unlike the GreenSmokes. You have the battery, the atomizer (which is part of the cartridge in the Greensmokes) and the cartridge with these. And these cartridges were meant to be refilled as many times as the filling will handle it. They say the filling does break down after a while, but I haven't found the magic limit yet. The smoke volume is comparable, and I like it better because it's purple! ;)
(You can find these at E-Cig Express)
Then there's the BluCigs. They come in black or white. I chose black. Like the Joye, they come with three pieces, but these carts aren't meant to be refilled. You CAN, but it's harder to tell when they're full. (You can find these at BluCigs.com.)
The advantage to the Blu over the Joye and the Green is that the batteries charge very quickly -- in about an hour. The Joye takes approximately 2 hours. The Green can take as long as 5.
Each kit comes with two batteries and chargers for them. The Joye and Blu each come with two atomizers. All of them came with pre-filled cartridges in whatever flavor I wanted -- or in Blu's case, it was a variety pack featuring all of their flavors.
Just for the record, since I started vaping instead of smoking, my lung function has improved so much that my pulmonologist wants me to bring him brochures on these things to put around his office. If that's not a rousing approval of them, I don't know what is.
Til next time!
