Hello FSF'ers, Omni here
When I watch certain movies I always get the same thought in my head. For example, Armegeddon, Most people should know this movie and if not head to www.imdb.com and look it up. Well one part towards the end, The highly trained shuttle crew have to disarm a nuclear bomb with very little time left. They unscrew the panel and start messing with the wires, dramatic music playing in the background, sweat pouring down there faces as they frantically try to disarm the bomb which is ticking away to total destruction. With 15 seconds left to go, while holding two wires in his hand says red or blue? the other with the cutters hesitates chooses one then pulls back and cuts the other one stopping the clock with mere seconds left.
I know this is only a movie and it was done for dramtic effect but come on. Here you have two highly trained people with lifes at stake and they don't know which wire to cut. well that always comes to my head everytime I see that movie.
The other thing was an older movie titled "Rollercoaster" It was a movie about a cold killer blowing up amusement rides and then blackmailing the amusement park owners for money. i thought it was a pretty good movie. What I saw made me realize how diffently movies were made back then to how they are made today. In this movie the star character had to follow what the killer told him to do and one of these things was to play one of the games at the park. Well he won one of these games and do you know what his prize was - a carton of cigarettes. You go to any amusement park today and i'll bet you won't be able to win cigarettes, let alone smoke them.
Well those are two things that have crossed my twised mind lately ;)

Well once again Grand Theft Auto, the whiping game to lawyers, is being blamed for a 14 year old killing his family two years ago. Lawyers say that the 14 year old kid would not have gunned down his step family if he did not "learn' to kill playing "the murder simulation device" Grand Theft Auto.
The 14 year old was alledgely abused, mentally and physical, by his step-dad and finally "snapped". He was convicted of First Degree Murder. New Mexico lawyers and Miami Lawyer and anti-game crusader Jack Thompson have named Sony Computer Entertainment America, Take-Two Interactive, and Rockstar as responsible for the triple homicide.
Sometimes I can't stand when people keep saying that games cause or teach kids how to kill or hurt people. I have played many a violent games in my youth. I have never felt the urge to go out on a killing spree. in most cases the game has nothign to do with the facts. and From what i read in the Related Link, there not asking for the court's decision to be repealed or annulled or thrown out. There just suing those three companies.
Just to show some levity and humor in this follow this link http://www.gucomics.com/archives/view.p ... e=20060927

Checking my daily webcomics like I do, I came across one on GU Comics on a funny take on the Classic video game PONG you can see it by clicking ont he related link or the link to the right. I thought it was pretty funny considering that my neice has another Volleyball game tonight.
Pronating reminds me about another problem i have. It is easy to find out if you're a pronator or supinator - look at your trainers! A pronator's outer soles wear down along the inside of the ball of the foot and they tend to have flat feet. The supinator's outer soles wear down along the outer edge and their feet tend to have high arches. Shoes are designed with features to control these problems.
My problem I beleive is the supination. My feet tend to roll inward and at times go compeltely in and that is when I trip and hurt my ankles by putting pressure on them. I wear shoes that control it. Problem though is I have wide feet. My shoe size is 8 1/2 4E. not many mainstream shoestores carry 4E shows mainly just D or 2E shoes. So shoe buying is not easy for me.

Seeing the teaser trailer for the live action Transformer movie got me thinking about cartoons I watched when I was young. i watched Bugs and his gang also Tom and Jerry and the Hanna-Barbara bunch. Other cartoons I liked were Thundercats, Transformers, and Voltron.
I watched another cartoon which I am having trouble finding. I beleive it was called Turbo Teen. It was a cartoon about a boy for reasons I can't remember would turn into a red sportscar every time he got hot, such as hot liquid being poured on him.
I remember it because of the transformation sequence. His hands would turn into fists then tires and his face would stretch making this weird smile then it became the front of the car.

So I'm browsing YouTube and Pipistrello has posted a new video with Chef Al Dente. It's pretty funny. Nothing much else happening other than the RE-RE-Release of the Original Star Wars Trilogy DVD's this time individually and "free" of any enhancements that have been done to them in recent years.
Personally i don't know if I'm going to get them. i already have the Originals on DVD , enhanced albeit, and the "originals" on VHS so i can't really see me shelling out most likely 60 bucks for three movies I already have in two different formats.
On the gaming front, two things that I have been looking forward to are coming soon. Namely Battlefield 2142 and the expansion to World of Warcraft, The Burning Crusade. Now i still play BF2 because it's free to play. I'm on hiatus from WoW until TBC comes out.

Let's see nothing much. FSF Truce got Married last week and is currently in Italy on his Honeymoon, so The Captain's Private stash in his ready room aboard the Gazer is open Watched my niece play a Varsity HS volleyball game tonight. Her school lost 3 games to 1 against the other school. She played very well for the time she was in. which was not enough time in my opinion. Number 6 was in for all 4 games and she's mediocre at best. So why might you ask that she was in all 4 games. because she's the asst. Coach's Daughter that's why.
I swear all coaches should be either single or married with no kids going to thier school. Still trying to get used to a day job and waking up at 5am when normally i'm going to sleep at 3 am.

After coming off a 1-0 loss to Greenville in OT in Game 3, the Blades surge back in Game 4 and trample the Growwl 9-4. With that win the Everblades advance to the Best of 5 Southern Division Finals against the top-seeded Gwinnett Gladiators. What was remarkable about Game 4 of the S. Division Semi-finals is that the Everblades scored a Team Record 7 power play goals and tied a team record 9 goals in a playoof game.
The Red Wings are playing thier second game against Edmonton today at 1pm EST. I love Hockey. Just wish i could play it. I used to play Hockey when I lived in Michigan but that was 20 years ago and i don't have my hockey legs anymore. I guess one day I will learn again ;)
Update: I figured I would just update this blog instead of creating a new entry ;) Well you can't win them all. The Oilers have tied up the series with the Red Wings 1-1 with a 4-2 win in today's Game 2. Game 3 is Tuesday, my day off, I'm so watching it. :)
