I've joined the weight loss Challenge in the Healthy Living area.
Who know what will happen but you'll be able to keep an eye on several FSFers who are also working towards getting healthier.
While I am not really expecting to get down to my Ultimate end goal weight of 125 I am shooting to get down to at least 150.
I think having a group of us working together to lose weight and get healthy is a great idea. Kudo's go to FSF Who for getting this thing going!

Having fun with names for Mia. She has joined Epsilon Station as an AMO by the name Mia Gonner. So far she's met the CMO and helped to load the Ship assigned to the Station for a medical mission.
Talk about trial by fire
I am looking forward to really getting into the story and developing this character.

Well, I can see Mia is going to give the Base XO a very hard time. Considering the name of the game id STAR BASE 35.. I had envisioned it to be life on a remote station, sort of DS9-ish.
But Alas, we've spent more time away from the base and on the Jefferson. I think when they started this game it would have been nice to warn us it was rally a SHIP based game if that's what they were gonna do.
We return to the SB and the XO sys we are having SL???
Wait.. aren't we STATIONED THERE..
OK so I'm being picky.. but I know from some of the comments made before the game from several others that they feel the same way. How do you expect us to create a realistic atmosphere of life on a deep space station if they never give us a chance to get settled into the roles.
Well enough griping.
Mia Dunne is the Chief of Base INTEL. That means she has the job of investigating everyone who seeks access, checking backgrounds, running investigations with SECURITY as needed, not on a constant basis. It isn't a constantly exciting job.. but it can be very interesting once we get settled.
Since this is a new game, and perhaps a new style for the hosts (station as opposed to ship) It may take us a little longer to get settled into our respective roles and find our place in the scheme of things. But I think once we do.. this will turn out to be a great game.

I must say that playing the Character Mia Cummings on Stennis is fun. Even IF Lowell repeatedly douses her with spiders ::shudders:: Right now she is crawling around in little used access tubes on the Stennis after being used to break open a force field in the brig.. (I am sure that would Hurt a lot) And Her co-conspirator is none other the the former CSEC now Night Shift Duty Officer Merlin.
Even though Merlin can't quitr make it to the sims do to a new work schedule.. through the MB and some JPs we are keeping his character involved.. hopefully Capt Black will not Demote Mia again.. any lower and she has to give up officers quarters LOL
It's fun waiting to see just what will happen to our hapless heroine....

Just when I thought it was safe to go outside without a dozen layers of clothing.. the cold weather hit again. the Snow I don't mind.. it's the freezing rain and Ice on everything that gets me. Now instead of the normal 5 to 10 minutes to get my car ready to go.. it takes 20.. to chop off the ice layer before I can even open the door.
So much for a quick ride anywhere... now I'll only go if it's absolutely necessary.
Almost makes me want to head for warmer climates....

I was just sitting back wondering what life would have been like had I not found FSF. It's funny to thing that this could be a life changing event, but it is. I no longer sit and wonder "what will I do" every night. I get to try my hand at being different things, without having to worry about dire real world consequences. Where else can I be as evil as possible and still get a *hug* from my "victims" or practice medicine with out malpractice being a constant worry.
And I am certain that my writing, while not extraordinary, does convey the thoughts in my head. I know that I have been a happier person in general. the ability to converse with so many others, well to put it bluntly, it keeps me from sliding into those depressed moods of loneliness during the cold winter months.
And to top it all off, I am having a great time!! And meeting Wonderful People!

Mia Cummings, the AMO on Stennis, is in for a rough time. She's quite arachnaphobic. And even more so now while she was doing an Inventory in sick bay, she opened a cabinet only to have hundreds of spiders crawl out and all over her. And with FSF Lowell in charge, soon they were in her uni.. And after she stripped out of that.. still the spiders managed to get under her only articles of clothing... thus allowing for several of the male crew members, who came in to check on the new dr to find her in a state of total undress, hopping about and slapping spiders off her body. All I have to say is ...Lowell is EVIL. Even when Merlin found a blanket for her, Lowell had a lab technichian pull it away to be cleaned, and then stareing at her till Gillian came in and rescued her, finding a lab coat.. which is what she ended up wearing as they transported over to the Romulan vessel they were borrowing to rescue Commander Worth.
I think FSF Lowell enjoys seeing poor Mia suffer.

Mia Cummings is the AMO on the USS John C.Stennis. Already she has had quite an interesting time on board. She was sent on an away team where she had to keep two men alive while thing were happening on the ship that were far from the Norm. Her place on the ship seems to be secure and there's alway plenty of things for her to do. Her Departmental Commander, Dr Gillian Lerner, will often be called away at the most inopportune moments.
In a recent adventure, she went to the brig to interrogate a prisoner who was the Carrier of a deadly Virus. During her attempt to get information and a biosample, the prisoner tore her Envirosuit and she was exposed. But all is well once again. Dr Learner found the cure in time. Now on to the next adventure... who knows what Captain Black will lead them into next...

Mia Dunne-Fox is stationed on board the USS INDEPENDENCE. She originally was an INTEL officer.. she was technically switched to SCI but has yet to be given the opportunity to make the move. Her expertise in INTEL has kept her there. She has been informed that she is pregnant.. and it is a multiple pregnancy.. according to the Senior Staff Physician she is going to have quintuplets. That was quite the shock to both her and her hubby, Leo (ENG). They were trying to keep the news a secret, but Cheri found out when she performed a regulation premission scan, just prior to an INTEL mission beam-out. It will be interesting to play this part. Trying to juggle her responsibilties with her growing mood swings and soon growing abdomen. And it remains to be seen how well the Command will take to having 5 infants on the ship as well.
As for Leo..Mia has her hands full trying to keep him out of sick bay. He is the most accident prone engineer she has ever seen.
All in all Mia Dunne-Fox is an interesting character with a lot of potential.
