It is true!
Saturday, November 8, 2008, 13:57
Well today is Saturday, and I am now a day walker as it is called around here.

I had to do a turn around shift, off at midnight back in at 0730 Saturday morning. Less the hour each way for travel, get up and shower, sh. . .well you get the point. So it breaks down that in the last 36 hours I have had 2.5 to 3 hours of sleep.

At this point it is worth it. I just might be able to have some resemblance of a life. Mind you I said might.

Anyway,

I'M BAAAAAAAAAACK

More good news!
Saturday, November 1, 2008, 21:22
Well this week I found out after much pestering and literally pushing the issue and coaxing someone else to come forward. I will be returning to day shift starting the 11th of November.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I can get back to my normal life. I will still have to work Tuesday through Saturday. That is OK though, I will have my evenings for family, simming, and building radio control aircraft.

With Cindy well on the mend and me going back to a normal type shift, life is looking good.

More later.

:-)

Out of chaos come a spot of sun
Wednesday, September 24, 2008, 23:30
Hello all, well as the title states; out of chaos and turmoil there comes a ray of sunshine.

Along with my Significant Other the Jewel of my life, my youngest daughter, had broken her ankle at a water park. That is not so bad, other than it was right at the growth plate and we had our fears if she was going to have to have surgery. She did not have to have any surgery what so ever. She is now out of her cast, out of the walking cast and in therapy and on 1 crutch till the end of the week. Then she has to go solo.

Also, the biggest and best bright light is that my SO has received her results on her Positron Emission Tomography scan (PET).

Drum roll please. . .

After 8 weeks of chemo therapy 16 weeks of radiation and five internal radiation treatments. . .

She is clear of the cancer for now and can have the kidney stint removed along with the port that is in her chest.

Waaaaa hooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to thank all of you that have been in contact with me and offering your prayer, meditation and offerings for Cindy's health. We both do appreciate it.

So for now I must run.

May peace and love be with you all.

:-)

It's been a while
Friday, July 4, 2008, 23:29
Hello all!

I know it has been a while. Anyway, things have just been very hectic as some of you well know.

So what I will do here is bring you ALL up to date as to the happenings in my little corner of the universe.

Well I have changed jobs that has me working on swing shift. (1530 to 0000). I work for Wells Fargo as a central plant engineer. So with that in mind I had to take a LOA from my chat sims. USS Stargazer and USS Stennis.

I had made arrangements to continue with Stargazer on the USS Stargazer AD message board and to do logs for USS Stennis.

Anyway, as some of you may have heard, my significant other has been diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer. This was discovered only after she was admitted to the ER due to hemorrhaging. Another hour and she would have been lost. Her hemoglobin was 4 out of 14. She had lost over two-thirds of her blood.

Anyway, the hospital staff where she was, were superb to and myself. Treating us like people and not lab rats. The were concerned and very helpful.

She was released from the hospital with an appointment with a GYN Oncologist.

Upon his examination and taking a biopsy she started to hemorrhage again and we were off to the hospital again.

The long of the short of it was that within 24 hours of that little episode, she was having all the tests, MRI's, Ultrasounds, PET, scans et cetera. And was having her first radiation treatment and then right into chemotherapy.

Needless to say I had to lighten my simming load a bit more and since I was playing 2 characters on Stargazer AD I put them on LOA.

Now we are in the 8th week of the treatment and we have at least 2 more chemo's she starts internal radiation this coming Wednesday.

All in all she is doing well. The mass is shrinking although with chemo every week and 5 radiation treatments every week it is taking a toll on her patience and tolerance towards everything.

And to top it all off her family has been traipsing in and out of our home non stop since this began. I do understand why they are coming out, but it is wearing on Cindy. Never mind what it does to my calm.

Can someone close the border to NJ for a few weeks?

Anyway, that is what has been going on and the level of my participation as been some what diminished. Hopefully by the beginning of August, the Merlin realm will be getting back to some form of normality.

Also, just as a side not, it looks like if all works out I might be back to working days and can get back to my regular life.

Anyway,

Have a great 4th of July and I will write again soon as I can.

Busy, Busy, Busy
Wednesday, January 16, 2008, 13:27
Well it has been around a month since my last entry.

Since then it has been very busy indeed.

I am still attempting to change employers. I have been interviewed and am just waiting for the offer to take the chief engineer position. My sources tell me that it should happen this week due to the fact that the contract starts on 2/1/08 and I need to be able to give 2 weeks notice. LOL, we will see what happens.

I have been offered an opportunity try out and vie for sponsorship from one of the large radio controlled equipment manufactures so when I am not working or siming I have been flying every minute I can. I have built a smaller foam aircraft with an electric motor so I can go to the high school football field across the street form me.

I will try to get some video as soon as I can for those who are interested.

If I get the sponsorship I will fly for the manufacturer using their equipment, thus making my contribution to my hobby even less. I would be doing demonstration flights and planning symposiums through out the country and possibly abroad. The great thing about it is. . .They pay me to play. What better job could there be and that means I would not have to really work. But from experience, I know that the travel is just as tiring and hard. So we will see.

The siming is going well, I am enjoying hosting on Phoenix and participating in my other sims.

That is about it from the home front here in Arizona.

Have a great day.

:-)

A sense of compleation
Tuesday, December 11, 2007, 17:45
Well as of today, it is finally official. I made it as a FSF Host. had my doubts after the first go round but with some coaching and never ending support from a couple of hosts I cowboyed up and went for it again.

This time with no disappointment at the end.

So thus far at 1645 -7 hours I have been given words of encouragement, welcome messages and notes along with being chased around with a branding iron that says "I Love Shuni" and told ". . .don't worry about the screams." Now guys, that does not give a warm fuzzy feeling for what I have stepped into.

And here I thought we were to help and encourage each other not try to scare the pants off of somebody.

Anyway it is all in good fun and I do appreciate everyone that has helped me get here as well as I do enjoy simming and chatting with all the people I have met here in this community.

I look forward to more fun times to come.

Have a great day.

*-)

Stuff in general
Monday, December 3, 2007, 11:36
Well the season is here.

You know when the significant others want you to go through the gyrations and stretch the engineering limits of you home electrical distribution systems.

As they do this they do not take into consideration the rated load on a circuit nor do they really care what the problem is. Just make the lights come on and stay on.

Therefore the task begins to do major reroute of energy by what ever means is required. Even if it means that you have to use the dedicated circuits in your shop via 100 plus foot extension cords.

Since that is a place where you have multiple 20 amp drops that are dedicated to run you high powered tool, not to mention your place of escape of the everyday trials and tribulations of work and life in general.

So, as far as the movement of jobs, I am in a holding pattern due to the fact that the hiring engineer was away again for a few days. But it looks good and I should be placed as their lead engineer by the first of the year by all indications.

It will be a rough job, one that requires me to work most of the time inside a conditioned air space, do required paper work, maintenance rounds and preventative maintenance schedules.

Anyway, that is what is going on at the moment not a whole heck of a lot but just wanted to share.

If I do not write before the end of the month, everyone have a wonderful and safe holiday season.

Peace :-)

MIA
Friday, November 16, 2007, 07:46
Hello all, I know I have been MIA for 6 months. But life keeps me hoping. As most that sim with me know, I have been working 7 days a week most of the time.

I do find time to post to the MB sims I participate in and most of the time can make it to my chat sims.

Most of my other free time is spent with my daughter or working on my mode radio control airplanes. When I am not building I get out flying as often as possible.

Here in the last few weeks my cup has become full of the garbage that I put up with in the multi-housing industry. So instead of being complacent and complaining about the situation, I am activly looking for employment elsewhere. So by the first of the year I hope to newly employed again and hopefully with a company that is appreciative of work done.

Anyway, I will try to write more often as time permits. It is Friday and after I am done with work today, I will have the next 9 days off. I will be attempting to do the many honey do's and projects around the house that have been ignored over the months. Oh and yes I will be doing quite a bit of flying as weather and time permits.

Have a safe and great Thanksgiving.

The story continues
Friday, May 11, 2007, 17:55
Well now that my back yard that is sitting in the gutter on the street and is now dry can be shoveled back to where it belongs, which as a matter of fact is up hill.

So, tomorrow morning, when it is not 109 degrees, I will get out with shovel and rake and put our traveling rocks back where they belong. I also will have a real serious discussion with them. They are not to go roaming anymore.

On another note. . .

Now that we are officially in our triple digit temperatures I am officially turning into lather at least on my lower arms and legs. By the end of summer the only way you will be able to see me in a dark room is if I smile.

Anyway, I am going to go make an adult beverage and go sit in the pool and try to cool off. . .

May your universe and life be fruitful. . .

An update. . .
Wednesday, May 9, 2007, 08:12
As the sun rose above the horizon, I was able to get out and survey the damage by the pool that decided not to hold water early this morning.

What happened was that the ring at the top of the pool that is to hold air is shall we say some what deflated that with the shift in the ground area caused the walls to fold over.

Now as I looked around, I see that there is a portion of my yard ground cover missing.

So I walk around to the street side and there in the middle of the street is my back yard!

OH joy!

The saga will continue. . .

Now I have to run to my all day meetings. . .
