Wow, it's been a while since I updated my blog! So many things have changed around here too. Ray is working full time and his job allows me to be a stay at home mom full time to our little monkey! Anyone who says stay at home moms don't work... well I'd like to see them do my job for a week, I don't get to be "off" after 8-10 hours, but I love it.
Xander is getting so very big! And he gets around, sometimes rolling sometimes scooting but either way he's into everything he can get his hands on! We go in for his 6 month check up on friday! I can't believe it's already been 6 months since he was born, it's true what they say, time does fly!
We just got back from a short camping trip too! More or less a first for both Ray and Xander. It was fun, but stressful. We left Thursday evening and found out when we were about 45 minutes from our property that my mom was in the hospital. She's doing better now, but they thought she'd had a stroke or heart attack. We decided to come home Saturday instead of Sunday, partially because it was just too windy and cold for Xander and partially to see my mom. If you ask Ray he'll tell you we were in Canada we just didn't know it, and if he worked hard enough he could have spit across the straits and hit their beach :-p.
Now...Pictures!
Xander and Ray "talking"
Ever so cute Father-Son moment
Xander and I at the beach
What? I'm eating here lady

Gee it hasn't been TOO long since I blogged but at the same time it seems like it's been forever! Xander is growing like crazy and he's already teething. AKA we're currently residing in one of the first layers of hell I think. Some days are okay and others, like today, are full of nonstop crying...from the baby not me! We've made the switch to cloth diapers, and while it means more laundry for me, it also means no more diaper rash! And some pretty cool diapers too!!

Okay well, I think I should have my name changed to FSF Mommy. I don't seem to have much time for anything else, even when Xander is sleeping or playing I'm constantly busy with something else! Aahh! But honestly...I wouldn't give it up for anything in the world. Bawls and I are finally starting to get settled in a bit here in Washington as a family, this month will be our first time completely alone with Alexander, just the three of us, for more than 2 days! So far so good, though, I do miss our couple hour break every night when my grandma would have her "snuggle time" with the baby.
March 19th Xander had his 2 month check up, he's grown so much! He weighed 12 lbs 6 oz and was 23 1/2 inches long! He's still got a herniated belly button, but there's nothing they will do about it until he's over a year old, I hope that it clears up on it's own I really do! We had a little scare as well, the doctor was afraid that Xanders skull was fusing prematurely. We ended up spending the rest of the day at Children's Hospital in Seattle for X-Rays, which he hated btw. It took us almost 45 minutes to get him to calm down after just 3 x-ray images were taken! All is well though, it turns out he just has a spot of calcified blood from where they used the suction on his head to pull him out, and with time it'll go away on it's own completly.
Let's see what else is new? Well Xander sits in his exersaucer now, and plays with the toys, he still loves talking to the fish on his play mat and the fish on his swing though. He has also figured out how he can wiggle himself from his bed all the way into our bed so he's curled up next to me. (His crib is a "co-sleeper" crib). He got to discover the grass and playing outisde last friday as well! He seems to like it as much as he likes watching the computer LOL!
Alright, alright I'll post some pics now!!

Well I haven't had a chance to blog lately, but now that things are settled down again I'm going to give it a shot!
Let's see here... what all has gone on? FSF Bawls and I are back in Washington! He moved here with me and we're able to be a family now! We're also engaged!! Woohoooo! Last weekend we made a trip to the ocean, a first for both Bawls and Xander!
As for baby updates... He'll be 8 weeks old tomorrow!! As close as we can figure he's about 12 lbs now, but we'll find out for sure on Monday. He has started laughing and playing with the toys on his little acitvity gym thing.
You can see all his uploaded picutures here:

We also found out that my grandparents are considering selling their house to us in five years! I've lived here for most of my life, I came home from the hospital to this house. And Xander came home from the very same hospital to this house. Ah the memories!

Hey,
As many of you know I've chosen to breastfeed my son Alexander, and have been a big supporter of breastfeeding for a while now. If any of you are breastfeeding, know someone who is breastfeeding, or support breastfeeding check out these tshirts, proceeds go to the Mothers Milk Bank of Ohio. The Milk Bank is set up so that women can donate their milk to be used to help save the lives of premature and criticaly ill infants! And you have to admit...those shirts are pretty damn funny too!

Well... we've hit the 3 week mark (and passed it by 3 days!). Xander seems so big already, so I thought I'd share some updated pictures. They're off my cell phone so the quality isn't that great but that's okay...he's still cute!
He makes the funniest faces, and I love when he laughs.
Wearing his big boy overalls -sniffle-
And because it's butt cold here in Ohio he's got to wear the dreaded snowsuit! hehehe

Well as asked I've decided to write a blog with my "birth story" following the birth of my son Alexander. I don't know that there's much to tell but we'll see.
Thursday night ( 1/18/07) I started having contractions at around 11 pm. I thought I just ate too much dinner and had a stomach ache honestly until about 1:30 am Friday morning. We left for the hospital around 2:30 am and once there, they told me I wasn't dialated enough and wasn't really contracting hard enough and I'd probably be sent home.
I spent an hour in the whirlpool tub before being checked by the nurse again, but I hadn't dilated anymore than when I'd come in. I was dreading the thought of being sent home, at least if I was at the hospital they could take care of any problems should they come up. After another hour in the tub the doctor decided that since they didn't really have anything to do they'd let me stay just to keep themselves busy.
At around 9:30 am Friday morning my doctor came in to check me and started me on pitocin...aka the devil. I had planned on going natural with no epidural but once the pitocin started working I was having 3-4 HARD contractions with no break between them and caved in. Epidurals are wonderful! It worked for a few hours and then the pain started coming back and hard once again. They raised the dosage twice and the anesthesiologist dude came back in and tried a stronger medication all together before finding out that the epidural had moved and had to be redone. I can't say it was enjoyable having the epidural put in, taken out, and reinserted...but I can't say it was extremely painful either.
I still wasn't progressing very well even with the high dosage of pitocin I was recieving, but I was too far into labor to be sent home now. Once the second epidural kicked in I relaxed enough to finally get some sleep. It let Ray relax too, once I wasn't in so much pain he looked a lot better. I'm extremely happy he made it here in time for the birth, I don't think I would have made it through the first few hours without him there next to my bed, I really don't.
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful, lots of checking from the nurses and my room crowded with family. LOTS of family everywhere...and I had a pretty small room. All I know is that I wanted water... and badly. The whole no food no drink rule blows. Ice chips don't cut it either, one would think they help...but they don't. At some point during the day I had to be on oxygen, with a nasty maple syrup smell to it. When you're hungry, that's not something you want to smell.
The nurse predicted that I'd start pushing at 7:30 and he'd be delivered at 9:41 pm. She was pretty damn close! I started pushing at 7:30 and had him at 8:51 pm. The scariest part of it all was after he was born. He wasn't crying, and he wasn't moving much that I could see either. And the doctor was covered in merconium (aka baby shit). They had to use the "vacuum" suction cup thing to help guide him out so the NICU doctor and nurses were already in the room, but they screwed up just a little bit. No one turned the suction unit on and when the doctor pushed it down his throat to clear out his lungs it caused him to have a pnuemothorax (nitrogen bubble in his chest outside of his lungs).
He spent 3 long days in the NICU, I didn't get to see him until Saturday morning, and I didn't get to hold him until late Saturday afternoon. Alexander was 7 lbs 3.9 ounces and 19 and 3/4 inches long, he's doing wonderful now though, everything cleared up and he's been gaining weight and growing!

Well!!
I've finally started playing around in photoshop again and took the step of getting set up on deviantart.com. I'm hoping to sell a few prints, though I wouldn't garuntee it's going to happen. POINT is... I've found something again that kinda helps take my mind off things, so check the page out! http://divineimmortal.deviantart.com/.
On to other things... Ray will be here in just over a day! I'm praying right now that his flight isn't delayed as we got dumped on with 6 inches of snow and it's still snowing!
Those were taken with my crappy little phone camera around 9 pm PST. I'm hoping the roads are clear before I have to go to the airport and moreso before I go into labor! This'll probly be my last blog before the baby is born, so until then...aaaaahhhh I'm gonna be a mommy really soon!

3 days!!! 3 days until Ray is here! That means 3 more days and I can have this baby. I'm ready, as much as I like being pregnant and all, I'm ready to have my body back.
The last nine months have been an interesting experience that's for sure, one that I didn't think I'd have anytime soon. They've gone so very fast too! It's hard to believe that I've been pregnant for 39 weeks and 3 days as of today. I mean, It wasn't that long ago Ray was coming here, and then not long after that that I was going on vacation to see him and meet his family in Ohio. Where does time go?
As much as I've hated being off work and stuck at home since October, it's given me the opportunity to meet quite a few of my fellow hosts, and form a couple good friendships as well. I can only hope that one day I'll have actually talked to all the other hosts at one point in time or another!
