I went camping again! I was gone for about a week and was so far away from civilization that I had NO cell service and NO internet. Boohoo, right? Oh, it was fantastic.

I also had a great birthday while I was out there. But we didn't make much of a deal about it, thankfully, and it went unnoticed in the FSF too. Oh well, I'm a big boy. ;)



Around midnight, you can hear us jumping blindly into the lake via rope swing, risking life and limb.

I was quite addicted to exercise a couple years ago. I would spend at least 2 hours a day, every day, working out. Then I fell off the wagon. But I'm trying again and on my way to forming a healthy habit of working out 6 days a week. I'm just looking for my energy level to return to where it was in 2003.

Wintry Writing Contest 2007

I'm here to announce to you that we're taking nominations for a winter writing award contest. Entries can be submitted via your sim's hosts for any FSF writing sample from between the months of November 2006 and February 2007. These are four of the colder months of the year in the US and Europe, so let's warm it up with some good stories!

Every sim will need to nominate TWO entries of no longer than 2,500 words. Ideally, these will the best of everything possibly written on your sim(s) during that time period.

These posts will be collected by your fleet staff and they will choose TWO entries overall for their fleet to compete in a week long competition on the FSF website.

Members will read entries and vote on their favorites. The winner will receive an OOC award. The top 3 people will get several hundred My Points! and every submission will get 10 points as well. The winning player will get top mentions on the front page, including the fleet and sim name they hail from.

I will be putting up the voting portion of the contest the 3rd week of March in time to announce the winner by the end of March. All entries will be collected and available in a storybook format in the end.

Happy New Year!

Many exciting things to look forward to in the New Year! My life is going really well and without much snow to complain about in New York, I'm as happy as a clam. A happy clam.

Plus I got a new phone and a ton of sweet accessories for Christmas. It doesn't take much to keep me happy, just give me new technology. And now I can take so many cool photos with my phone and upload them right away.

Keeping the juices flowing

Some exciting things happening FSF. Wait, maybe not. I always say that cause any activity is exciting to me. ;)

1. We're having a staff meeting in the coming weeks.

2. Four of our six fleets have both over 100 members each and over 50 unique players each. The other two are shortly behind. This is terrific news for those that understand sim inbreeding.

3. Plans are in the works to redouble our efforts on open sims by attaching them to fleets.

4. Some thoughts are being shared about relaunching the FSF Weekly Buzz. This could be a lot of fun. I've also been considering doing a weekly quicky newsletter again.

5. Thoughts of relaunching a BSG sim have come up again. :)
